House Ways & Means Republicans passed the American Health Care Act in the early hours of Thursday after a marathon 18-hour partisan markup where Democrats pulled out all stops as they tried to derail the bill, including offering amendments to delay the markup, require Congressional Budget Office scores to be made public a week before a vote on the bill, allow individuals to opt out of the bill and keep the ACA and repeal the Cadillac tax. None of the amendments passed; Republicans voted to table them after they were ruled out of scope.
